Over the past 3 months, I’ve been on a LinkedIn diet. Fewer posts, less engagement, (almost) no outreach. One reason is that I enjoy writing this newsletter WAY more than sacrificing all my time to social media. I'm also sick of seeing AI-slop everywhere. You literally cannot spend 5 minutes on the platform without reading another “it’s not about this, it’s about that” sentence pattern. And why on earth is everyone doing things “quietly” now? Don’t get me wrong: I still think that having a strong LinkedIn presence is a massive business advantage. You can connect with your ideal clients, invite them to join your newsletter, and reach hundreds or even thousands of people with your content. But if that content sounds and reads like AI, you’ll hit a big problem—often without realizing it. Because let’s state the obvious fact: AI has no feelings. If you outsource your content to a machine that’s dead inside, your readers will feel the same way. When there’s no emotion, there’s no connection. But without connection, it’s really hard to build trust—and without trust, it’s impossible to attract leads for your business. The problem is that AI content makes you sound like everyone else. This means you become part of the crowd, and a potential client has no reason to choose you over your competitors. So if you want to stand out? Your content must have a human touch. Now, this doesn’t mean you should ditch AI entirely from your process. When I work with clients, we use it all the time—like pulling content ideas from calls or turning a brain dump into a first draft. AI is a fantastic partner that can help you accelerate your creative process. But when it comes to content, it should never get the last word. You still have to edit your writing and put yourself back in, because that’s how you create a connection and pull people into your world. So promise me this, Reader: Don’t get sucked into creating slop. Dave P.S. In my 1:1 program, I show you an AI-assisted workflow for writing high-quality newsletters that will make you stand out from the crowd. It’s the first round, so I’m keeping it to three spots to give you the best support. You also get 50% off in exchange for feedback and a testimonial when you get results. If that sounds fair enough, reply with the word “newsletter.” |

Over the past few weeks, I’ve taken a little summer break. I spent less time on LinkedIn and paused writing my newsletter. And I’m glad I did. Because stepping away from work for a while freed up mental space and gave me more time to think. …about where I’m at… …and where I want to go. This led to an uncomfortable realization. I’ve been working on a few projects over the summer and making some moves here and there. But I was lacking a clear direction or finish line. Maybe you can relate. When...
I’m at my friends’ wedding today. …which is why I spent the past few days: Overthinking my outfit Crafting a nice wedding gift Practicing new dance moves In moments like these, I’m grateful to have a high-leverage business that runs without me (while I’m killing it on the dance floor). For example: I’ve just compressed this week into three workdays, and nothing broke. That’s the beauty of building leverage: You can let your words work for you. So today, I want to share my 3 top-performing...
My client Tim is a busy man. He’s a father of four, runs a consulting agency, and just launched a parenting podcast with his wife. Before we started working together, Tim always felt behind on content. His problem wasn’t just finding time to write. He also struggled to come up with ideas. As a result, weeks went by without him posting anything. It was frustrating because he knew he was likely missing many opportunities. His competitors were posting consistently, but his online presence was...
